Counselling is solution-focused and faith-centred. It supports reflection and healing, helping you move towards greater emotional steadiness and clarity.

The ethical frameworks used by non-Islamic governing bodies are not fully compatible with Islamic values and principles. For this reason, Sabinah is pursuing accreditation with the Association of Islamic Mental Health Services (AIMS), whose standards are rooted in an Islamic understanding of wellbeing. As prior experience is not accepted as evidence towards accreditation, this process requires newly logged hours and therefore takes time.
Yes. Sabinah offers counselling for couples. To ensure that both individuals have sufficient time to speak openly and be heard, two sessions must be booked together for couples work.
Yes. Islamic counselling is suitable for individuals at all stages of their faith journey. Sessions are not about judgement, pressure, or expectations of religiosity. Support is offered at your pace, helping you make sense of your experiences within a framework that recognises faith, meaning, and the soul.
This service is not designed for crisis intervention. If you are experiencing immediate danger or severe distress, you should contact your GP, local emergency services, or an appropriate crisis support service.
Counselling sessions are currently offered online, allowing you to access support from the comfort and privacy of your own space.
The fee is £55 for a 50-minute session.
Sessions are non-refundable. However, if at least 24 hours’ notice is given, appointments may be rescheduled and the fee transferred, provided the rescheduled session takes place within three months of the original booking.
